Excerpt

I see out of the corner of my eye that Ned is on the phone. Hopefully, he’s calling in reinforcements since it looks like the SUV is gaining on us. Just as the rear window of the Focus blows inward, he finishes the call. Hundreds of pieces of glass hit Ned and me. Luckily, it’s shatterproof stuff, so we’re mostly okay cut wise. Ned crouches down and fires three quick shots with his 9MM. In the mirror, the SUV swerves to the left and almost explodes after it rams a parked car. “Stop,” Ned yells.

I slam on the brakes, which nearly tosses Ned through the windshield. “For shit’s sake, I don’t have a seatbelt on, junior, so take it easy. Just stop and turn around.”

John’s main interests are reading and writing. He turned to writing as a full-time occupation after an extensive career in business. Teaser Scene

Lucy had made herself invisible even to Lana before leaving the security of the house. It wouldn’t do for anyone else with an open mind to see her hovering beside her.

A tall, good-looking man walking ahead of Lana yelled, “Ow!” and jumped a few inches off the ground before turning around and giving her a one-eyed stare. He rubbed his rear and then turned back around, walking much faster away from them.

“Lucy,” she whispered, “what did you do?”

“Just a little pinch, my girl. They didn’t make men like that in my day.”

“You’re unbelievable! If you’re not good, I’ll take you back home and you can wait there until I return.”

Lucy laughed. “Did you see the tight muscles in his arms, the dark as night hair and the rear on that man? Ooh la la! Can’t believe you’re still single with men like that in the world. When’s the last time you had a date anyway?”

“I do okay. Besides, I’m in no hurry to settle down.” A cool breeze blew in from the ocean and she breathed deeply.

“Whatcha waiting for? Remember, the Grim Reaper could come a-calling at any time and that’s one fella you don’t want interested in you.”

Where did STILL CRAZY come from?

It went through many incarnations over the last 26 years! In 1989, I took a detour from my romance genre and wrote a thriller about a stalking ex. It was set in the present, then, but I updated and revised it many times. Back then there were no cell phones, no internet, no GPS’s, and none of those songs or bands existed!

An excerpt from STILL CRAZY:

She brought her car in for servicing the next morning, parking in his lot next to a red and white taxi. Her mechanic called her a little after two. “Your car is ready, Alyssa. Hey, do you know you have a GPS tracking device attached underneath it?”

“What?” She shook her head, baffled. “I have a GPS in the dashboard, but not under the car.”

“Oh, yeah, you do. This is a tracking device. Somebody has a GPS and a dot will flash on the screen to show your exact location, as long as you’re within range. You want me to take it out?”

She instantly knew who this ‘somebody’ was. She felt as if a ton of bricks clobbered her square in the face.
